King Louie – MUBU

Louis Johnson, also known as “King Louie”, or “King L” was born in Chicago, Illinois on Jan 1, 1987.

King Louie is one of the first artists to bring Chicago’s Drill music to an international audience.

Furthermore, Louie signed a contract with the legendary Epic Records, a division of Sony Music Entertainment Inc. “Mubu,” stands for Man-Up-Band-Up, and according to Louie, the term is meant to represent a movement.

Shooting Incident

On December 23, 2015, King L was shot 7 times – Including the head and chest. During an interview on CNN, King L explains the incident following the event.
